General Information:
 CSR Europe welcomed more than 70 health-related business and policy representatives to a
Morning Debate on Health Literacy and CSR in the European Parliament
 The major aim of this event was to launch the first-ever Blueprint for Business Action on
Health Literacy, to create awareness about the importance of health in the workplace and
how health literacy can contribute to today’s business needs, and to explore synergies
between business, EU institutions and health-related stakeholders in the area of health
literacy and health promotion.

Presentation by Ms Madi Sharma of EESC opinions and thoughts regarding women at a time of Crisis

Long before the bank bailout of the Cypriot Banks was requested the University of Nicosia focussed on preparing a conference for their students and guests to understand more about solutions for dealing with crisis situations, and particularly how women leaders dealt with those challenges. Many women had found new opportunities through entrepreneurship and demonstrating to young people that opportunities arose from the most diverse situations was one of the objectives of this conference.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia Women Entrepreneurship Council

The issue of women entrepreneurship has emerged in the activities of the Serbian chamber system in parallel with changes in the economic structure of the Serbian economy and the events that followed its transition. And then, as now, the problems that women entrepreneurs in Serbia faced and have been facing are the same problems faced by small and medium-sized enterprises not only in Serbia but also in the wider region and in Europe - administrative barriers to business, uncertainty of the economic - systemic framework, high public spending, and difficulties in financing business. With the outbreak, duration and deepening of the crisis in the euro zone, the management of these problems has become increasingly difficult, and their solving has required the synergy of all stakeholders.

CSR Europe : Aligning Business and policy Action for Health Literacy

This event was established to launch the first-ever Blueprint for Business Action on Health Literacy and to discuss and explore synergies between business, EU institutions and health-related stakeholders in the area of health literacy and health promotion. The purpose was also to present the business case of health and well being at work and to learn how health literacy can make a difference.

Women Managers of Slovenia

Presentation of EESC opinion Women on Boards by Ms Madi Sharma

I was invited by the Slovenian Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Association of Professional Managers – Section of women managers to participate in their workshop of women managers. The topic of the day “Moving from Management to Boards positions” so this was the ideal opportunity to present the work of the EESC in this aspect and have a debate with the 80 female managers in the room.
