An exchange of challenges and opportunities in relation to SME management, including a range of visits to a variety of Chinese SMEs ( The definition of an SME in China is not the same as an SME in Europe). Tibetan Chamber of Commerce

Tibetan owned businesses, in general, are flourishing despite many challenges. The entrepreneurs are community focussed, often prioritising compassion and ethics over profit. The young generation of Tibetans are an inspiration and look at new markets and diversification even without qualifications or training. However there is a desperate need for marketing skills, a focussed and cohesive approach towards business development and community growth and hence the establishment of the Chamber is a welcomed mechanism to support many businesses. All the businesses support His Holiness the Dalai Lamas teachings that they can create jobs and wealth for the community alongside promoting and retaining their identity and trading ethically. In this Europe has been asked to support the development of the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce in any ways possible.

EU-India Follow-up meeting with NASSCOM and Mr NN Vohra

23 March Meeting with Mr Saurabh Srivasta, Chairman of NASSCOM, and Indian counterpart to discuss current state of play of the forum. Both of us had the same understand of the objectives now and in the future of the roll of the forum as a link and network for civil society organisations and the sharing and dissemination of information. Proposal and costs sent to MEA( External Affairs Ministry). Costings were cut by over 50% and Nasscom were hopeful of approval.
